Where is Mica lodge located?

Mica Heliskiing is located 150km north of Revelstoke, British Columbia in the western Canadian Rocky Mountains. Most major airports provide direct flights to Kelowna, BC where our team will pick you up and provide your onward transportation to Mica Lodge.

Classic Program Guests: Getting here requires flying to Kelowna, BC and taking our custom shuttle to our staging along Kinbasket Lake where we then heli across to our lakeside lodge. We can also coordinate a private heli transfer from Kelowna or Revelstoke directly to the lodge.
Private Program Guests: Getting here requires flying to Kelowna, BC and jumping on a private heli that transfers you and your guests directly to and from our lodge.

Getting to Mica Lodge / Transportation

AIR TRAVEL

Our lodge is most easily accessible from Kelowna International Airport (YLW) in British Columbia. From there, your Classic trip package includes round-trip ground transportation to Mica Lodge.

Travel Tip: We recommend you always fly with your boots as your carry-on luggage. For international guests, if your luggage does not make it, we can still get you out riding with borrowed gear.

GROUND TRAVEL

For our Classic Program guests, we provide round-trip ground transportation on our private shuttle from Kelowna via Revelstoke to our lodge staging.

HELICOPTER CHARTER

To reduce travel time for our Classic Program guests, we are happy to assist in arranging charter helicopter transportation from Kelowna or Revelstoke directly to and from our lodge. Please contact us at reservations@micaheli.com for details and pricing.

Arrival & Departure Day Itinerary

Arrival
Our Mica Shuttle departs Kelowna at approximately 8:00-8:30 am PST on the first day of your tour. After a brief stop in Revelstoke, you will continue 150km north to our helicopter staging area for a short flight to our lodge, arriving around 2:00 pm PST.

Departure
On the last day of your tour, you will depart the lodge after a half day of skiing and travel to Kelowna via Revelstoke by shuttle. The shuttle arrives in Kelowna at approximately 7-8:00 pm PST.

Kelowna & Revelstoke Accommodation

We are pleased to offer preferred rates at various hotels in Kelowna and Revelstoke. You are encouraged to make your own hotel reservations and, when booking, please advise the hotel you are a Mica Heliskiing Guest to receive the preferred rate.

What to Pack

All guests, staff and supplies are transferred from our staging site by helicopter to Mica Lodge.

To ensure safe and efficient helicopter transfers, please respect the following guidelines:

Soft sided duffel bags only. Avoid bags with wheels or rigid frames
Maximum bag size is 30 x 24 x 16 inches / 100 litres
Carry ski and snowboard boots separately
Boot bags are acceptable

Mica Packing Checklist

Equipment Provided by Mica

If you are bringing your own skis or board DO NOT pack your belongings in your ski or board bag. There is limited room in the ski basket and a fully packed ski or board bag will not fit. We do encourage you to use our powder skis or snowboards.

Excess or improperly packed gear that results in additional flight time will be charged a minimum of $500 per guest. If your luggage does not meet the above requirement, you may be asked to re-pack your belongings.

You are encouraged to leave excess luggage and ski/board bags in our Revelstoke office while at Mica.

All guests are required to complete our Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement (the "Waiver").

Emergency Medical Insurance Coverage

Mica obtains Emergency Medical Insurance coverage for all confirmed guests that is limited to your time at the Mica Lodge. We have paid the insurance premium on your behalf. Click here to view a summary of the Emergency Medical Policy to ensure it meets your needs. Additionally, this Emergency Medical Insurance covers the cost of helicopter transportation to the nearest hospital.
This is only medical insurance. Optional Trip Interruption Insurance would be needed for reimbursement of lost tour days at Mica.
This policy only covers you from the time you arrive at Mica Lodge until midnight on the day of your departure from Mica Lodge. Optional Trip Insurance, as outlined below, will help cover those portions of your trip not spent at Mica Lodge

Trip Cancellation & Interruption Insurance

We highly recommend you purchase Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance and have worked with Acera Insurance to make the process as easy as possible. Mica does not receive any compensation from this provider, we are only interested in our clients peace of mind.

To ensure maximum coverage please purchase insurance within 72 hours of paying your initial deposit. If you have already made your deposit, there is still time for coverage. Please contact Acera Insurance as soon as possible. They will provide a quick response if you fill out the few questions on the linked page.

Why purchase Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance?

Refunds at Mica are limited only to cancellations as outlined in our policy below.
Getting to Mica involves a lot of travel and typically at a significant cost.
We understand that occasionally events occur that prevent you from joining us for your vacation. Life is full of surprises and so is travel! You can't predict a missed flight connections, your own illness or an early season injury.

Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance covers the following:

If you or a household family member gets Covid.
If you get injured prior to your trip.
If you have to leave the lodge for a medical emergency or a family member's medical emergency back home.
A missed flight connection that makes it unable to get to Mica.
A private vehicle mechanical failure, weather conditions, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, a traffic accident, or an emergency police directed road closure; any of which make it unable to get to Mica.
As well as other circumstances, please refer to the insurance binder for exact coverage details and do not rely solely on Mica's summary.
Insurance can cover more than just the cost of the Mica trip, but your other travel expenses as well.
