Arrow Helicopters has been an integral part of the Mica team, years before our inaugural guests took flight. With over 24 years of area knowledge over our mountain terrain, the seasoned crew boasts an impeccable safety record and an unrivaled expertise in mountain flying. In fact, Arrow owner and chief pilot, Matt Callaghan navigated our terrain with Mica's pioneering guides, laying the groundwork for what has become an extraordinary Canadian Rockies adventure for all who join us.
Helicopter safety isn't just a priority—it's ingrained in every fiber of our operation. Pilots undergo rigorous training and testing as well a real-life mock rescue scenario with our guide and lodge team prior to the start of every season. Flight safety is a collaborative effort between our guides, pilots, and engineers, who work hand in hand to meticulously plan each excursion, from assessing snowpack conditions to navigating the ever-changing weather patterns. We understand that taking flight for the first time can be nerve-wracking, which is why we go above and beyond to ensure our guests feel at ease every step of the way. Before hitting the slopes, our pilots provide comprehensive helicopter awareness and safety training, offering reassurance and guidance to alleviate any apprehensions.
