The 3rd annual Red Bull Butter Cup will be starting up in just a few days. The snowboard competition series is all about style, and about how thickly riders can lay it on during their run. Each stop has some unique custom made features that riders must jib and rail to the best of their ability. The features offer plenty of different ways for riders to add their personal style, and in the end it's the one with the coolest trick that will win the day. This season there will be 22 stops, and registration will be day-of for all of them. Registration is open to everyone, although it's limited to the first hundred, and riders will be divided into Pro and Amateur divisions. Once the fields are set, riders will compete in jam sessions with cash and prizes on the line. The key though will always be style, the more the better. Things get started in Brighton, Utah on December 11th, and then proceed through Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Vermont, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New York, New Mexico, and California. Heli skiing BC.

When the first Butter Cup is going on in Brighton, we here at Mica Heli Guides will be firing up the helicopter for our first official heliskiing tour. With a good amount of snow already down around the lodge, and even more up in the alpine powder bowls, this season is looking like a record breaker. It's always deeper on our tenure thanks to our micro climate, but with La NiƱa in effect this year, the heli skiing  and heli boarding are set to be epic. With 72,000 hectares to our tenure, there is nothing you want to hit that we don't have. From steep chutes and ridge lines to pillow lines and glacier runs, it's all here and more. Book a tour soon though, as most of our dates have already sold out.
